1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use Curbside:

• Account information: Your email address and display name when you register.
• Location data: Your approximate device location when you open the app. This is used to calculate drive times to upcoming events and to power the "Time to Leave" departure notification feature. Location is not shared with other users unless you explicitly share a pin or event at that location.
• Content you create: Pins, events, and groups you create, including titles, descriptions, photos, and the geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) you assign to them.
• Group membership: The groups you belong to and the members of those groups.
• Push notification tokens: A device token used to deliver push notifications (such as departure alerts and event invitations) to your device.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and deliver the Curbside app and its features.
• Calculate real-time drive times from your location to upcoming events (via the Mapbox Directions API).
• Send push notifications you have requested, such as departure reminders and event invitations (via Expo Push Notification Service).
• Display your pins and events to members of the groups you have chosen to share them with.
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.

4. Third-party services

Curbside uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Mapbox: Used to display maps and calculate drive times. Mapbox receives your location coordinates when drive time calculations are performed. See Mapbox's privacy policy.
• Expo Push Notification Service: Used to deliver push notifications to your device. See Expo's privacy policy.
• Microsoft Azure: Our app and database are hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure in the United States. See Microsoft's privacy policy.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties. We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and secure credential management. Access to your data is limited to the systems required to operate the app.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. Location data recorded during app sessions is stored for a rolling 24-hour window and then deleted. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for location access at any time through your device settings.

8. Children's privacy

Curbside is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
